The Monarch Toddler Sling

There's a specific kind of tired that hits when your toddler wants to be carried. Of course it's only for the next thirty seconds, and then down again, and then up, and then down. It's more negotiation than nursing.

The Mabē Monarch Toddler Sling is built for that phase - for when your child is too big for being in your arms all day, but not quite ready to walk everywhere on their own.

It's a lightweight hip carrier designed for toddlers who move between being independent and needing to be held a dozen times an hour. Rather than the full structured carrier that your baby needed, it mimics the natural way you'd already carry an older child on your hip - just with the weight supported across your body so your back isn't taking the full load.

It fits toddlers from 16 to 45 lbs, and works with the same adjustable, body-size-inclusive design as the Monarch carrier. If you already own a Monarch Baby Carrier, the sling is designed to coordinate - same hardware, same care instructions, same quality.

FAQs
When is my child ready for the Monarch Toddler Sling?

The Monarch Toddler Sling fits children from 16 to 45 lbs. It's designed for toddlers who are walking but still want to be carried for portions of an outing. It is particularly for hip
carry, which works best when your child is old enough to hold on with their legs and arms. If you're unsure whether your child is ready, Mabē offers free fit consultations.

How is the Toddler Sling different from the Monarch Baby Carrier?

The Monarch Baby Carrier is a full structured carrier with padded waistband and shoulder straps, designed for extended wear from newborn through toddler. The Toddler Sling is a lighter, quicker option for hip carry - it's ideal for shorter trips, frequent up-and-down transitions, and older toddlers who still want to be close but
don't need the full support of a structured carrier. Many families use both, transitioning from the carrier in the newborn stage to the sling for the toddler stage.

Can I use the Toddler Sling for a newborn?

No. The Monarch Toddler Sling is designed for children 16 lbs and above. For newborns and younger infants, the Monarch Baby Carrier is the right choice - it fits from 9 lbs and supports the M-position seat that promotes healthy hip development in younger babies.

Does the Toddler Sling come in the same designs and colors as the Monarch Baby Carrier?

Many designs are available in both the Monarch Baby Carrier and the Toddler Sling, so you can coordinate if you'd like a matching set. Not all designs are available in both products, however, so check the individual product pages to see current availability.

How do I put on the Monarch Toddler Sling?

Video instructions for threading the Monarch Toddler Sling strap are available on the product page under the "Instructions + Safety" section The instruction manual is also available. For a personalized walkthrough, Mabē's certified babywearing consultant offers free fit consultations.

Is the Monarch Toddler Sling safety tested?

Yes. The Toddler Sling is CPSIA and CPSC compliant and is independently tested
by accredited labs including AM Testing and Intertek as part of every
production run. Mabē is a U.S.-based company subject to federal regulation for
children's products.
