HIP SAFETY

Hip safety comes down to correct positioning in any carrier, so it is essential to achieve the deep seat or “M” position- with baby’s knees higher than their bum, and weight supported primarily by the bum, rather than under the knees. Check that your baby is in this deep seat position each time you place them in the carrier.

T.I.C.K.S.

TIGHT

Your carrier should be tight and hug baby close to your body. Ensure that you tighten straps to eliminate extra slack that could cause baby to slump down in the carrier, as this can hinder breathing.

IN VIEW AT ALL TIMES

You should always be able to see your baby’s face by simply glancing down. Do not eclose baby in carrier in such a way that you have to open the carrier to see baby’s face.

CLOSE ENOUGH TO KISS

Your baby’s head should be as close to your chin as is comfortable. Achieve this by positioning the carrier high on the natural waist. You should be ableto kiss your baby on the head or forehead easily.

KEEP CHIN OFF CHEST

Baby should never be curled in such a way that their chin is forced onto their chest as this can restrict the airway. Ensure there is always a space of at least a finger width under the chin.

SUPPORTED BACK

In all positions, baby’s back should be supported in a natural C curve, without slumping or arching, and without excess room between baby and wearer

I received the monarch carrier in dream wash denim for my baby shower. I found the option for a baby wearing consultation through the Made website and booked a time. I met virtually with Vanessa and she walked me through how to best wear my carrier and place my baby based on her size and development and provided how to modify as my baby grows. I love that there was an option for a consultation to ensure the proper fit and safest option for me and my baby! Vanessa was kind, welcoming and super helpful. Thank you!

My favorite carrier

I have purchased two other carriers and this one is by far my favorite. It is easy to put on by myself with one hand. My little seems the most content in it, all nice and snuggled. I get lots of compliments on it. Easy to clean.

Must have!!!

We absolutely love this carrier. I like to find a deal and save money when I can, so it was hard for me to spend the money on this, BUT it was worth EVERY penny. Easy to put on, compact, thin but not too thin, and so easy to move up with the baby. I spent money on two other carriers that, compared to this, were not worth the money. I love that this can be front-facing AND be worn on the back as well. This carrier is worth every penny spent! We adore it!!
